    Mark Thrasher began his public service career working as security at Pokagon State Park while attending Tri-State University in the late 1970s. After graduation, Mark enlisted in the United States Army and attended Officer Candidate School where he was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant. After serving as a combat company commander in Iraq, Mark returned to civilian life where he pursued a lifelong dream of owning his own business.

    Today, Thrasher Welding and Machine is a “Tier One Supplier” to the Department of Defense for a wide range of custom made machined parts. Missing the camaraderie of the military, Mark joined the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department and became a 1st Class Reserve Deputy volunteering more than 1200 hours annually.

    As the former Marshal of Hudson, Indiana Mark has 40 years of ties to the local community, Mark believes that serving small town America is the highest of honors.

    Mark a Cerified SCUBA Instructor and a Multi Engine Instruments rated airplane pilot.

    Mark served on the Executive Committee of the Indiana Marshals’ Association as the 2nd Vice-President /IT Director and was elected President at the 2016 IMA Spring Conference.
